Bench Press on Foam Roll


-1/2 foam roll flat side down  ____
-1/2 foam roll flat side up      ____
-Round foam roll                   ____ (shown)

- Lie on foam roll with head and buttocks on the roll.

-Position your feet wide apart if you are a beginner, narrow if you want to challenge balance and core stability.

-Press dumbbells above chest and lower them until you feel a comfortable stretch.

-Chin remains in chin tuck position.

-Remain stable on the foam, no side to side movement.

Competency Criteria

Client is able to maintain balance on foam roll with no side to side movement.

Client is able to perform the exercise with narrow foot stance.

Client is able to perform exercise with one dumbbell in one hand (which requires more core stability).

Client is able to perform exercise in an alternating pattern.
