Bench Press on Foam Roll
-1/2 foam roll flat side down ____
-1/2 foam roll flat side up ____
-Round foam roll ____ (shown)
- Lie on foam roll with head and buttocks on the roll.
-Position your feet wide apart if you are a beginner, narrow if you want to challenge balance and core stability.
-Press dumbbells above chest and lower them until you feel a comfortable stretch.
-Chin remains in chin tuck position.
-Remain stable on the foam, no side to side movement.
Competency Criteria
Client is able to maintain balance on foam roll with no side to side movement.
Client is able to perform the exercise with narrow foot stance.
Client is able to perform exercise with one dumbbell in one hand (which requires more core stability).
Client is able to perform exercise in an alternating pattern.
