The more things change, the more they stay the same. This certainly applies to strength and conditioning. Traditional strength training in the 1970's and 1980's (when I started training) was all about training with free weights and machines. The goal was to get B I G ! ! !
Years ago, however, getting big was not necessarily the goal, but in many cases the result of doing exercises that involve movements that challenge the whole body. Equipment consisted of kettlebells, bodyweight, and many other pieces of apparatus that we are not accustomed to today. Fortunately, this type of traiing is making a comeback in the gym.
The Videos below are some of my favorites because they demonstrate tremendous feats of strength, core stability , agility, and balance which goes beyond lifting a barbell over your head or bench pressing enormous weight. Look, listen and marvel over the exercises shown here. Remember, consult a qualified health care professional/trainer before attempting any of the exercises depicted in these videos.
