Push-Up on
Hands and Toes


(On Floor)
-Position yourself on the floor on hands and toes with arms extended (straight).

-Arms are shoulder width apart.

-Your neck, shoulders, hips, and knees and ankles should form a straight line throughout exercise.

-Your hips should maintain a neutral position, back is not arched throughout exercise.

-Neck remains in a chin tuck position throughout exercise.

VARIATION: At the top of the pushup, twist your body and support yourself on one arm.

Competency Criteria

Nose touches floor each rep.

Client’s body (from ankles, knees, hips, shoulders and neck) maintains a straight line throughout exercise.

Client maintains neutral spine (no arching) throughout exercise.

Client maintains chin tuck throughout exercise.
