Push-Up on
Hands and Toes
(On Floor)
-Position yourself on the floor on hands and toes with arms extended (straight).
-Arms are shoulder width apart.
-Your neck, shoulders, hips, and knees and ankles should form a straight line throughout exercise.
-Your hips should maintain a neutral position, back is not arched throughout exercise.
-Neck remains in a chin tuck position throughout exercise.
VARIATION: At the top of the pushup, twist your body and support yourself on one arm.
Competency Criteria
Nose touches floor each rep.
Client’s body (from ankles, knees, hips, shoulders and neck) maintains a straight line throughout exercise.
Client maintains neutral spine (no arching) throughout exercise.
Client maintains chin tuck throughout exercise.
